Fast Forward to the Past

March 23, 2012

Yesterday I’ve been to a wedding party and my little black dress and my coat had a 60’s allure. I didn’t find them in my granny’s wardrobe: I bought both of them only one week ago in one famous big shop in Milan.

We are probably back in 60’s, but we are also back in the 90’s, in the 70’s, in the 80’s and so on. During the lesson that I attended last week, Li Edelkoort showed us some future trends and a picture of a pair of Dr. Marten’s boots with flowers printed all over. I was pretty sure until that day that the best place to put my old Docs was the attic, because I would have never thought that they could be ‘wearable’ anymore. And luckly … I was wrong!

The point is that, as Li told us, the trends grow and change but they never stop being an important part of fashion life … so they come back from past as they were, change into hybrids shape or create something that has never been seen before.

In any case … think twice before deciding to throw away your old clothes they might ‘rule the world’ again.

I haven’t found THE lbd yet, but… the one I had yesterday was almost perfect. Bought in one of the most famous fast fashion shop (Z..a), it is short, unshape and it has some little pearls on its collar. It’s classy but also everyday-wereable. I will post an outfit pic on my Facebook profile 😉
