Crochet Playgrounds make kids happy

January 25, 2013

Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam is a Japanese artist and she is also a playgrounds designer. She started this activity some years ago when she was exhibiting a large-scale crochet piece, β€˜Multiple Hammock No. 1β€² and two children asked her to swing in it. She agreed (also if she was scared about the consequences) and in this way she discovered that a playground could also be built by crocheting.

In 2000 her first large-scale crochet playground, Rainbow Net, came to life. Since this year she created a lot of crochet playgrounds in Japan and here you can watch some pictures of them.
