A woman, a fashion legend: Diana Vreeland

April 3, 2012

Diana Vreeland was called simply DV. Just two letters for a woman who has become a fashion legend. If you are in Italy, maybe you can visit the Fortune Museum in Venice, that celebrates Diana with a show named Diana Vreeland after Diana Vreeland, a tribute to the never forgotten columnist and editor of magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue.

If you read her short bios published on the web you will probably think that Anna Wintour is a nice lady: Diana was an acute woman, brilliant and provided with a clear and innovative vision of the fashion system, but she wasn’t easy at all.

I’d like to read her official bio to know more about her, and to better understand if all the critics she received were, or not, justified.  I really hope to find a copy of the book here in Italy: maybe translated in Italian would be better ;).

I’m curious: have you already read Diana’s bio? Or have you already been in Venice at the Fortuny show? Please tell me your thoughts about this legendary woman and share your impressions regarding the show if you’ve been there. Thanks!
