Consorzio Promozione Filati and Pitti Immagine, together with the most important Italian yarn industries, launch the 6th edition of Feel the Yarn, the contest dedicated to knitwear designers. The aim is to support those young international talents who will be able to present their original and innovative knitwear creations, enhancing the features of the most innovative Italian yarn.
The theme of the contest, coordinated by Ornella Bignami (Elementi Moda), is DUAL. Importance will be given to the contrast or the fusion of elements which are different for their volumes, materials, production and colours. Before black glades into white a lot of shades are taken into consideration. Designers will be invited to test crossbreeding between different materials, different ways of production as well as extreme shapes and variable volumes.

L’obiettivo è sostenere i giovani talenti internazionali che sapranno distinguersi per le loro creazioni in maglia originali, valorizzando i filati italiani più innovativi.
Il tema del concorso, coordinato da Ornella Bignami di Elementi Moda, è DUAL focalizzato sul contrasto o sulla fusione di elementi opposti per volume, materia, lavorazione, colore. Il nero sfuma verso il bianco naturale declinando un’ampia gamma di toni neutri nebbiosi o trasparenti, nei più bei filati proposti dalle filature partecipanti. Uno stimolo per i giovani designer a sperimentare ibridazioni di materiali, finissaggi decorativi o funzionali, forme estreme e volumi variabili.
