“To Those who know
The Stimulus there is
In Danger – Other impetus
Is numb – and vitalless.”
Emily Dickinson describes with crystal clear synthesis, in just few verses, the incitement and the vital impulse coming from a state of danger and fear. Infact fear becomes a spur able to push us beyond, to help us move ahead. Clearly it is a reaction that needs to overcome an opening obliteration period and an incubation span during which the trend is – on the contrary- closing for a better defence.
The emotional, social and economic displacement caused by Covid 19 unfortunately is far from being defeated and passed.
This experience should teach us many things, as long as we are able to do a bit of soul searching. Perhaps what we absolutely should learn from it is to-precisely- move beyond, not only to overtake this moment, but more in general for an individual and social growth, is to have the awareness of misleading, indiscriminate, control exercise.
We describe all this through a palette where clear, hot and cold neutral colors, mellow and temper the disquieting assertiveness of black and asphalt grey.
