Sandra Backlund and the conceptual knitting

May 24, 2012

Sandra Backlund is a Swedish designer who believes in slow fashion. She founded her own company in 2004 and her collections are not shown during the fashion weeks as it is supposed to be, but in art galleries around the world.

She has launched a new way to think about yarn, not considered as a material for fashion purposes but more as a matter to be sculpted on the body. Her clothes are the result of her personal conceptual knitting: every dress is handmade, monochrome and seems to be always more a tridimensional sculpture, than a simple cloth for your wardrobe.
