Sandy Maclennan square

I studied woven and knit textiles working as a consultant heading a team managing Japanese contracts till 1982.

I founded, East Central Studios working on conceptual trend promotion in colour, textiles, fashion and marketing. I consult to knitwear brands, spinners and fibre producers – ICI, Dupont, Courtaulds, Tencel, Asahi Kasei, Cargill Dow. I am one of the creative editors on View magazine and Viewpoint in the inaugural editions. I’ve taught at Chelsea School of Art, The Royal College of Art and Polimoda in Florence, plus as external examiner for both Chelsea and the RCA. I helped co-found CLASS in 2007, a service and materials platform based in Milan for the promotion of smarter sustainable sourcing in the new circular fashion economy. I am a working member of the British Textile Colour Group and also design colour on the Pantone View Colour Planner with an international team of friends and experts.
