“Where flowers blossom, so does hope”
Mrs Johnson, USA’s First Lady,1963
Every choice we make has an impact on the planet, on the plants, and on the magic world of nature.
Nature is an ode to cooperation and freedom. From the beginning, the vegetal and animal kingdoms have worked jointly to increase the natural wealth of the rural world. Wind, water and soil work together with insects and birds to carry pollen to flowers, cross borders, overcome obstacles and contribute to the perfect functioning of vegetal system and the rebirth of new lives . This summer we will celebrate together the essence of our floral inspirations: insects!
And here comes a fashion trend evoking movement and tireless worker bees, dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs and hummingbird.
We open the season with multicolour jacquard patterns with very fine gauges. Printed yarns in butterfly colours, from turquoise to green, to the various shades of pink with a touch of red and mustard, as Elisabetta Scarpini, FTY’s Art Director, pointed out.
Soft solid colour background and abstract patterns with multicolour yarns. Printed and tie&dye yarns from the most innovative dyeing techniques.
The finest 12, 14 and 16 gauges are perfect to imitate dragonfly transparent wings. This year knitwear will not only mean sweaters but also pants and fluid skirts that follow our movements in the open air.
Recycled polyamides answer to our need for transparent and sustainable materials.
Recycled nap yarns with very light backgrounds and many coloured naps in delicate degradée shades. The traditionally masculine nap yarn in autumn shades changes into spring colours, in rose and burgundy or blue and emerald bouquets.
3D bobble stitches, knitted or hand embroidered on organic cotton yarns as flowers ready to bloom on substantial yarns of organic cotton.
Small knots in transparent polyamide like dew to brighten natural and raw yarns.
“Yarns are the seeds of a blossoming knitwear season.”

Cotton, our summer plant “par excellence”, this year is rigorously organic, enriched and volumized by recycled polyamide.
The stitches on two-ply 7 gauge acquire volume and softness. Also the nm16, even if they are fine, give substance and shape to the knitwear, thanks to the presence of polyamide.
120’s superfine wools perfectly interpret multicolour and multidimensional jacquard patterns. Nature inspires us and we reproduce in our sketches a recurrence of dimensions, from small to big, in a repetitive sequence as a replica of our movements and desire to travel.
Birds moving geometrically as in Esher prints with interconnected shapes that gradually change on clothes.
The movements of the swarms and the bees flying on flowers are the inspiration for knitwear collections that are an ode to freedom, positive change and cooperation between society and fashion for the creation of a more sustainable world.
